Admission Process

Priority Processing Dates

BSW – Feb. 28
MSW (Advanced Standing) - Jan. 31
MSW (Regular Program) Feb. 28

All complete BSW and MSW applications received by the priority processing dates will receive a decision within 30 days or less.

All complete applications submitted after the priority processing dates will be considered for admission, but will receive a decision within 30-60 days.

Bi-Weekly Information Meetings

The School of Social Work conducts bi-weekly information meetings on its programs. Schedules of undergraduate, masters and doctoral degree meetings are available for download as "PDF" files or can be obtained by calling the school's Office of Admissions and Student Services toll-free at (866) WSU-SWRK (978-7975). Potential applicants are encouraged to attend one of these meetings prior to applying.


BSW Admission

The School of Social Work offers admission to the BSW degree program in the fall semester.

MSW Admission

Applications for full-time or part-time study in the Master of Social Work program may be submitted as early as one year prior to the term in which the student wishes to enter the program. New students admitted to the core year of the MSW program are enrolled in September.

Doctoral Admission

It is strongly recommended that all prospective applicants attend a PhD Program Information Meeting and attend a WSU workshop for financing graduate education sponsored by the Office of  Financial Aid.
