Biography
A recognized authority on social work education and human service, Professor Leon Chestang joined the faculty as dean and professor in 1981. He has experience in social work practice, having held positions as a child welfare worker, supervisor, welfare executive, community organizer and director of casework services. As a private practitioner for 10 years, Professor Chestang counseled individuals and families. He began his academic career as a member of the faculty at the University of Chicago.
