Janet Joiner

In 1993, Janet M. Joiner joined the School of Social Work in the Office of Admissions and Student Services (OASS). Today she serves the School as its Assistant Dean for Student Affairs and also teaches SW 1010, Introduction to Social Work and Social Welfare for non-majors. Dr. Joiner is interested in the areas of Social Entrepreneurship/Social Enterprise and Cyber Social Work (the infusion of contemporary technology in direct social work practice and higher education).
Dr. Joiner is responsible for supervising the OASS Division, development of recruitment and marketing strategies, and determining final student admission decisions to the B.S.W, M.S.W. and Graduate Certificate Program in Social Work Practice with Families and Couples. She is also responsible for recruitment and training of students involved in SSW student organizations and for providing faculty advisement to Student Organization (the umbrella organization for social work students).
