Two Position Opening for Lecturer (Graduate Level Courses)
Our research infrastructure, innovative curriculum, inspired teaching and community engagement make the Wayne State School of Social Work an exciting place for those committed to social work education. We are currently recruiting two outstanding candidates to teach graduate courses in social work practice (foundation or advanced interpersonal), human behavior or social welfare policy. One lecture position will also coordinate the School’s Temporary Approval process for Michigan school social workers. Preference will be given to candidates who exemplify the School’s mission of challenging minds, leading change and transforming lives through dedicated teaching, community involvement and collaborative efforts with colleagues. Candidates must demonstrate knowledge on issues and concerns of urban, poor or vulnerable populations and the ability to engage students in the practical application of social work policy and practice from the classroom to the community.
At a minimum, all candidates must have a masters degree in social work (MSW) with at least 3 years of professional post-MSW work experience and hold an active social work license. All applicants must also have previous teaching experience and be well versed in the use of technology in the classroom. Preferred applicant qualifications include a doctorate in social work, social welfare or a related discipline with extensive social work experience. We will consider MSW, ABD applicants for this position as well.
