Antonio Gonzalez-Prendes, PhD
Assistant Professor

Research Interests: My research interests include the investigation of the use of cognitive-behavioral therapies with gender, racial, ethnic minorities and other historically disenfranchised populations in order to address mental health and substance abuse issues in general, and anger in particular. I am also interested in the exploration and identification of specific cognitive processes and client variables that may contribute to the onset and maintenance of anger problems. Lastly, I am interested in integrating the findings from such investigations into a cognitive theory-based conceptual model that
could provide practitioners and researchers with a more accurate understanding of the cognitive mechanisms of anger.
