Elizabeth N. Brehler Scholars Program

The Elizabeth N. Brehler Scholars Program is a manuscript competition that gives students the opportunity to produce a scholarly paper on a current issue. A scholarship award will be given to the student who submits the best paper, as judged by the “Brehler Committee.”

In addition to a monetary award that is set annually, the winner will present the paper at a special convocation of faculty, students, and the winner’s friends and family. All papers submitted become property of the Wayne State University School of Social Work.

Developing skill in production of scholarly work is critical to the education of social work students. Since its inception, the Wayne State University School of Social Work has been committed to providing students with a stimulating, challenging and rewarding education that includes production of scholarly work.

The School is grateful to the friends and family of Elizabeth N. Brehler whose generous contributions provide this opportunity for WSU School of Social Work students.
