MENTAL HEALTH ASSOCIATE (MHA)
PROGRAM SUPERVISOR OR THEIR DESIGNEE
POSITION SUMMARY: Provides receptionist & clerical duties as well as direct care services to a select group of patients. Is responsible in identifying/supervising a patient's location at all times. Is responsible to ensure that a patient is free from harm to self, other patients and staff. Provides an effective and positive role model and provides constructive feedback to patients. As an active part of the treatment team, assists patients by providing continuous client care, supervision, interaction, psycho-education groups and role modeling.

Must provide documentation of a current physical examination and tuberculosis test prior to beginning employment; and TB test annually thereafter.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND EXPERIENCES REQUIRED: Education: High School diploma or GED required; Bachelor's degree in the Human Services field preferred
Experience: Six (6) months experience in human services, psychiatric hospital, RTC or community mental health preferred.
Ability to work with adult/geriatric populations as demonstrated through educational accomplishment or work experience.
A working knowledge of JCAHO, ODMH, and patient rights standards, and any other applicable federal and state laws and regulations governing mental health care facilities relating to direct patient care.
Demonstrates a strong interest in providing therapeutic care for patients/clients with mental illness and/or behavioral disorders.
Responsible role model with pleasant personality and neat appearance, emotionally mature, and practices good communication skills- both verbal and written.
