First Responder (full-time midnight position)

Hours/week: Full-time, 37.5 hours per week, Monday-Friday midnight shift
Availability: Immediate – full-time midnight position, Western Wayne County Location
Description: Provide crisis intervention and support for residential (shelter) clients, callers on the 24-hour help-line and also provide on-call/in-person advocacy to survivors in our Assault Response program at area hospitals and police departments and other safe locations. Responsible for special projects as assigned. Comprehensive training and supervision provided.
Qualifications: BSW/BA in human services preferred, equivalent work experience considered. Experience in crisis counseling, domestic violence and sexual assault. Capable of handling crisis situations effectively. Demonstrated initiative, high professional standards, and excellent organizational skills. Strong oral and written communication skills. Ability to work independently and with supervision. Demonstrated experience working effectively with people from diverse racial, economic and cultural backgrounds. Caring, empathetic, client-centered approach. Ability to travel between sites in Wayne County. Valid MI drivers license, current auto insurance, criminal background check, sex offender registry check, Department of Health and Human Services clearance, have and maintain excellent driving record, and reliable transportation required. Ability to lift 30 pounds on occasion. Bilingual a plus. EOE.
