REPORTS TO: Trainer/Intern Coordinator
CLASSIFICATION: Full Time Non-Exempt
GENERAL DESCRIPTION & QUALIFICATIONS: The Volunteer/Intern Specialist will coordinate volunteers to assist all programs and projects at Turning Point and Second Hand Rose. They will supervise, train, and evaluate volunteer program, ensure volunteer appreciation efforts and volunteer placements. Organizes holiday drop-offs. The Volunteer/Intern Specialist is also the liaison between the colleges, universities and Turning Point and ensures a successful intern placement. A Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent work experience, and prior experience and knowledge in the area of domestic violence or sexual assault preferred. Must possess excellent public speaking skills and experience. Must be able to work with diverse populations. Must have empathic listening skills, excellent verbal and written communication skills. Travel is required between training sites and community presentations. Must be able to work flexible hours. Must have reliable transportation, insurance, a valid Michigan Driver’s License and a good driving record. Must pass a criminal background check as a condition of employment. Salary Range: $15-$17 per hour.
