Objective - Cultivate, promote and retain positive working relationships with community partners through effective communication, capacity building and community outreach while promoting workforce development support in health professions.
Essential Functions, Duties & Responsibilities
Establish and maintain relationships with individuals receiving or eligible for public assistance for referral to HPOG and other VOAMI services.
Identify places within Wayne county where low-income individuals can be found and conduct regular outreach to these location.
Coordinate with other HPOG staff to maximize outreach efficiency.
Maintain working knowledge of a variety of public assistance resources – to include additional VOAMI programs – along with agency and program requirements for enrollment.
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in public health, public administration, human services, business administration, social work or related field or one year of relevant full-time work experience
Availability to work a non-traditional schedule that may occasionally include some evenings and weekends.
Preferred
Previous experience working with individuals receiving public assistance to include Food Assistance Programs and Family Independence Programs
Proficiency in languages other than English with an emphasis on Spanish and Arabic
Experience working in healthcare or public healthcare related fields
