The Emergency Shelter Support staff will assist with the operations of our emergency shelter program
during our COVID-19 emergency response. Tasks will vary depending on that week’s unique needs, but will be in
alignment with the general responsibilities listed below. Due to the COVID-19 health crisis, in an effort to protect
our clients, staff, and volunteers, Lighthouse staff are expected to self-quarantine at home while not at work. You
will be expected to stay at home if you are feeling unwell and to let your supervisor know immediately.
Responsibilities:
? Setting up client sleeping areas and living spaces.
? Light clerical work including answering and directing phone calls.
? Overnight supervision (typically 8pm-midnight or midnight-7am).
? Assisting with setting up and passing out breakfast, lunch, and dinner.
? Communicate relevant and important information in a timely manner.
? Check shelter guests in and out.
? Monitor shelter guests' temperature and report concerns.
? Laundering linens at the end of the shelter week.
? Implement and enforce agency policies and values to maintain a safe, client-centered, and inclusive
environment for clients, volunteers, and staff.
Employment Terms:
? Hours will not exceed 19 hours a week and you may be expected to work some evening hours and
weekends.
? This is a part-time, non-exempt position. You will not be eligible to enroll in Lighthouse’s health insurance
plan and will not be eligible for PTO
