Dr. Poco Kernsmith (Wayne State University, Social Work) and Dr. Joanne Smith-Darden (Michigan State University, Social Work) are currently hiring several research assistants to work with two CDC-funded projects to prevent and respond to violence and threats of violence in schools.
All positions involve primarily remote work from home.
Youth Empowerment Solutions for Healthy Relationships
Youth Empowerment Solutions for Healthy Relationships (YES-HR) is a violence prevention curriculum that has been implemented in middle schools. By creating opportunities for youth empowerment and action, with supportive intergenerational partnerships, YES-HR helps students to strengthen social connectedness, promote positive relationship behavior, enhance bystander intervention, and improve social norms. Data Sharing and Dissemination Coordinator (part-time, 50%): (jobs.wayne.edu Posting # 045225) Coordinate the editing and revision of curriculum materials for online dissemination. Assist in report writing for data sharing with schools and communities. Support qualitative coding and analysis of focus group data. Master’s Degree Preferred - $22,000 to $24,000.
