Friendship Circle is a non-profit organization that provides programs and support to the families of individuals with special needs. In addition to assisting individuals with special needs, the Friendship Circle enriches its vast network of volunteers by enabling them to reap the rewards of selfless giving.

The Workforce Development Coordinator will be working in a bakery environment, training adults with special needs with the purpose of them gaining employment. The focus of this position is working with and through others, building and maintaining relationships, and working closely and accurately within established guidelines. The right fit for this position would be an effective communicator, someone who is able to stimulate and motivate others while being aware of and responsive to their needs and concerns. A persuasive teaching style is required to communicate the company's policies, programs, and systems. The Workforce Development Coordinator must be friendly and genuinely interested in the business, agenda, and needs of others, including the company, its management, the team, the company's customers, or all of the above. A faster-than-average pace will be the norm for the Workforce Development Coordinator position. Detail work is a major focus of the job, and those details need to be handled quickly, correctly, and efficiently. The work will often focus on relationships with others; correct handling of details dealing with others is necessary to maintain and grow relationships. The Workforce Development Coordinator position involves managing others, following up carefully, closely, and cheerfully is required. Necessary corrections when prompted in this position must be made in a constructive, supportive manner.

ACCOUNTABILITIES

· Expertise working with individuals with a wide range of special needs (Autism Spectrum Disorders, Cognitive Impairments, Traumatic Brain Injury, Hearing Impairments, Physical Impairments and Emotional Impairments)

· Experience in overseeing a skill/vocational/educational program

· Setting expectations for individuals to have individual successes

· Plan, schedule, and implement the coordination of the bakery skills training

· Evaluation/skills assessment and run review assessments meetings and implement skill development plans

· Employee effective management skills and techniques with trainees and bakery staff

· Promote positive interactions among trainees, bakery staff and volunteers

· Maintain effective communication and interaction among program partners, participants and families

· CPI Training

· Understanding and Implementing Task Analysis

· Positive Behavior Supports

· Work with Typical Staff to Interact and Support Individuals with Special Needs

· CPR

· Assessment and Training Plans
