DEFINITION

A Highly-skilled trained social worker who is able to perform and complete daily job responsibilities with efficiency and competency. This individual will adhere to and comply with the ethical and professional guidelines of NPRC at all times. This job function is employed by a clinical social worker  who will consistently produce quality work in the area of substance abuse counseling as set by the job responsibilities and standards of NPRC.

QUALIFICATIONS

  1. Complete and pass a criminal background check and obtain clearance
  2. Licensed as a Certified Social Worker in the State of Michigan; A.C.S.W. preferred
  3. Graduate of an accredited college or university with Master’s level or above degree in the field of social work
  4. Certification recognized by the Michigan Certification Board of Addiction Professionals (MCBAP) in the State of Michigan as a Certified Advanced Alcohol and Drug Counselor or has an approved development plan
  5. Minimum of one year of experience working in a substance abuse out-patient services or two years of experience working in an in-patient setting
  6. Knowledgeable of City, State and Federal, TJC and/or CARF and BC/BSM regulatory standards and guidelines
  7. Computer and internet basics, capable of web based navigation and data-entry
  8. Knowledge and use of computer program(s) (i.e. Microsoft Word, Excel etc…)
  9. Posses the ability to communicate and work well with others
  10. Experience/training in:
  1. Individual/group counseling methods and techniques
  2. Problem identification
  3. Intake interviewing and assessment
  4. Crisis Intervention
  5. Referral Management

 DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITES

  1. Efficiently maintains and schedules the clients assigned to their caseload on a monthly basis.
  2. Oversees with proficiency the assigned case load utilizing case management tools
  3. Enters and maintains client information on a web-based data management system
  4. Effectively counsel and sustain therapeutic interactions and relationships with individuals and/or groups in an ethical manner
  5. Proficiently  initiates and suggests referrals specific to individual need
  6. Maintains and make available developments of client sessions by providing clinical documentation regarding all services provided to the clients individual needs
  7. Monitors the delivery of direct services to insure they are performed in accordance with program policies, PIHP, TJC/CARF/BCBSM/and CMS Medicaid/Medicare standards
  8. Maintains certification(s) in the state of Michigan through LARA (Licensing and Regulatory Affairs), MCBAP, (Michigan Certification Board of Professionals) and continuing education through in-service training, workshops, seminars, and conferences
  9. Maintain confidentiality of the clients at all times and report any abuse
  10. Communicate effectively both orally and in writing; conducts groups sessions
  11. Work(s) under the pressure of deadlines; independently and/or with limited supervision
  12. Functions in leadership abilities as designated by administration
