Who we are: Woodbridge Neighborhood Development (WND) is a nonprofit community development organization
serving the greater Woodbridge neighborhood of Detroit bounded by I-94 Ford Freeway, M-10 Lodge Freeway, MLK
Boulevard, Grand River Ave., and the Grand Trunk Railroad. Established in 2002, WND is focused on housing and
commercial development and resident programs aimed at improving quality of life and maintaining the historic
diversity of the Woodbridge community. The organization is governed by a Board of Directors comprising mostly local

WND seeks a Program Manager to design and implement community programs. The Program Manager reports
to the Executive Director and works collaboratively with resident teams and the Program Committee to create
inclusive and fun activities that meet community needs. The 2021 workplan for this position includes the following but
may change depending on new opportunities and/or staff additions:
1. Activate neighborhood parks and greenspaces

o Plan and oversee safe summer programs in Scripps Park, resuming programs held in 2018 and 2019
but suspended in 2020 due to COVID-19. Programing may include outdoor movies, music, kids’
recreation/reading, other events;
o Create opportunities for resident engagement in newly-renovated Bryant-Vermont Park in coordination
with Detroit Audubon;
o Explore neighborhood recreation opportunities and deployment of donated sports equipment.

2. Oversee implementation of minor home repair program for low-income residents

o Work with Program Committee to develop 2021 eligibility and program materials;
o Coordinate outreach to and communication between residents and contractors;
o Assist Executive Director with recordkeeping, program compliance, and promotion.

3. Organize community events, such as:

o Vacant lot, street, and/or alley cleanups;
o Neighborhood/home tours and celebration events;
o Safety or traffic calming initiatives with a resident-involvement component.

**This newly expanded role is imagined as a full-time salaried position but may work as a shared role by two
individuals who each prefer part-time employment.

Full-time salary starts at $40,000 and includes medical, dental, and vision benefits and generous paid time off. WND
staff may work virtually (especially during continued COVID-19 restrictions) or in the co-working space at Tech Town,
440 Burroughs, Detroit, until permanent office space becomes available in Woodbridge. WND is an Equal
