About St. Clair County Community Mental Health:

St. Clair County Community Mental Health is a county-based behavioral health provider. We offer services and supports to adults with mental illness, children with serious emotional disturbances, persons of all ages with intellectual/developmental disabilities and persons of all ages with substance use disorders.

We have two guiding philosophies as an agency, the Recovery Model and Integrated Healthcare. The Recovery Model is the belief that all people have the capacity to grow, change and learn, regardless of their diagnosis; that all people have the ability to live a fulfilling life of their choosing. Integrated Healthcare refers to the mind/body connection. For a person to achieve wellness, whatever that might look like for them as an individual, we must manage and support both physical and behavioral health conditions. With an onsite health clinic and pharmacy at our main office, our ability to treat both mind and body is second to none.

As an organization, we believe that being on the forefront of developments in behavioral health care gives our staff the ability to advance and excel in their scope of practice as well as provide the very best outcomes for the people we serve

About the Community:

St. Clair County Community Mental Health serves all of St. Clair County, Michigan, located at the base of what is commonly referred to as the “Thumb Region” of Michigan. With the entire eastern boundary of the county being comprised of Lake Huron and the St. Clair River, St. Clair County is home to several waterfront communities dotting its eastern shore and with rural towns in agricultural settings making up the western region of the county.

Our flagship location is in the City of Port Huron (pop. 29,000), the largest city and the county seat. Our main office is home to The People’s Clinic for Better Health, our on-site primary care clinic as well as Genoa Pharmacy, providing a convenient setting to assist people in meeting all of their health care needs. Our Child and Family Services building is located only about a mile from our main office which allows us to have all the resources of the main office nearby, but to have a child-focused setting to serve our youngest individuals.

We operate two satellite locations, one in the western area of the county, in the town of Capac, Michigan and one in Marine City, Michigan, serving the southern area of the county. Operating satellite locations allows us to provide the same level of care to people close to their community.

St. Clair County is home to several highly-rated school districts, and has a rate of homeownership above the state average, with a cost of living below the state average. While it’s certainly a beautiful place to live and work, it is located within commuting distance of the Metro Detroit region of Wayne, Oakland and Macomb Counties providing flexibility in living and working options.
