1 Position Overview

Zaman International, Hope for Humanity is a 501 C(3) charitable organization that serves as a pre-eminent relief organization. Headquartered in Southeast Michigan, our team is dedicated to facilitating change and advancing the lives of women and children in poverty by enabling them to meet essential needs common to all humankind. We seek a passionate Case Worker to join our Bayt Al Zahra Client Services team.

Zaman needs a person with strong experience and education in case management to provide support to our Client Services department, known as Bayt Al Zahra (BAZ.) This is a critical role for Zaman. As one of Bayt Al Zahra’s Case Workers you will manage the evaluation and case management for clients interested in securing employment. You provide valuable insight regarding client needs as part of the BAZ Client Services Department at Zaman and participate in program or process improvement opportunities.

1.1 Key Responsibilities

  • Your primary role supporting the Bayt Al Zahra Client Services Department, is to nurture hope within our clients while following appropriate policies, processes, procedures and protocols. On a daily basis, your responsibilities may entail:
  • Leading initial intake meetings and psychosocial assessment on referred individuals, resulting in a determination of client eligibility as per the established mission.
  • Collecting and verifying clients’ documentation.
  • Evaluating and prioritizing crisis situation of clients, determining services to be provided.
  • Managing client cases including assisting clients with the definition of life-changing goals and monitoring their progress on these goals.
  • Serving as counselor and advisor to clients, providing comfort and emotional support as deemed appropriate.
  • Aiding clients in all areas related to gaining and/or retaining employment and career advancement.
  • Ensuring accurate, complete, timely data entry, maintaining all client related data for assigned cases to support reporting and data analysis.
  • Assessing opportunities for process improvements and making recommendations for programmatic changes based upon client needs.
  • Cultivating relationships with social service personnel employed by other agencies by which to better identify and properly serve BAZ client base.
  • Authorizing and fulfilling services in compliance with process documentation.
  • Evaluating client eligibility for other Zaman programs such as vocational training, English language skills or enrichment through our BOOST program.
  • Identifying other resources and creative solutions to support clients in need.
  • Attending staff meetings as scheduled.

1.2 Education & ExperienceCandidates

  • Should have a college degree or significant work experience.
  • The successful candidate easily establishes rapport with a diverse range of people and holds a passion for helping people.
  • The ideal candidate also has experience with social service organizations.
  • Preferably, this person has experience in a multi-cultural setting, can converse in Arabic, and has worked in a non-profit setting.
