The Program Manager for Prevention Education and First Year Programs serves on the Sexual Assault Prevention and Awareness Center's (SAPAC) Prevention Education team and reports to the Director of SAPAC. SAPAC is housed within the Division of Student Life. You will provide leadership for the required sexual misconduct prevention programs for first-year students, which are required by the state of Michigan and designed to engage incoming students in primary, secondary, and tertiary violence prevention education and skill-building. This includes healthy relationship, consent, communication, bystander intervention, and survivor support education and skill-building. Your work will involve program and curriculum development; management of student staff and facilitators; ongoing facilitation training for peer educators; management of student workshop schedules and registration processes; partnering with units engaged in overlapping and intersecting work; evaluating programs for effectiveness; overseeing leadership teams; and managing the infrastructure for the required programs. You will also support SAPAC's prevention education efforts through presentations, trainings, and workshop facilitation.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in social work, public health, education, student affairs, or related field
  • 1+ year experience working in sexual violence prevention education, social work, public health, education, student affairs, youth development, or related field through a professional role or as part of graduate or volunteer work
  • 1+ year experience working through lenses of social justice, cultural competence, intersection of identities, and empowerment of historically marginalized and underserved populations through a professional role or as part of graduate or volunteer work
  • 1+ year experience with program planning and/or project management through a professional role or as part of graduate or volunteer work
  • 1+ year experience with student supervision and/or peer education through a professional role or as part of graduate or volunteer work

Additional Information

This role may have reporting obligations under Title IX and Clery.

Authorization to work in the U.S. is a precondition of employment and applicants for this position will not be sponsored for work visas.

Salary may vary depending on qualifications, experience, and education of the selected candidate.

Relocation will not be offered for this position.
