Social Work Assistant Lecturer or Assistant Professor of Practice

Now, more than ever, is a time of transformation in health care education. The COVID pandemic and the unfolding realities of health disparities and racial injustice have challenged health care systems and universities to seek a new normal. At the Ball State University College of Health, we are rising to that opportunity. We graduate health and social service professionals who are clinically knowledgeable, committed to advancing inclusive excellence and social justice, and ready to collaborate on interprofessional teams. We invite applications and nominations for an Assistant Lecturer or Assistant Professor of Practice in the Department of Social Work to join us in preparing today’s health and social services workforce.

Applications are invited for a full-time, non-tenure line appointment in the Department of Social Work available spring semester 2023. Candidates should have strong teaching and practice skills to develop instructional activities, facilitate classroom discussion, and provide generalist, clinical or macro practice supervision. Candidates must demonstrate a strong commitment to inclusive excellence.

We seek faculty candidates to teach four social work courses in both the fall and spring semesters, provide practicum supervision to students through classroom seminars and field work, and actively contribute to the intellectual and professional life of the Department of Social Work, College of Health, Ball State University, and the social work community at the local and state levels. Candidates for appointment as an Assistant Lecturer of Practice should have an earned Master’s degree in Social Work from a CSWE-accredited program and at least two years post-MSW practice experience.
