What is your favorite thing about your job?

Interviewing alumni is one of my favorite parts of the job. Hearing first-hand from alums their personal stories of accomplishment since graduation is always interesting. School of Social Work alumni have incredible stories rich with Detroit history and in some cases with unconventional career paths I didn't expect. I am always amazed to hear what our alumni chose to do with their social work degrees and how much enjoyment they have had in their careers.

Do you have any advice for incoming students?

Join a student org! When I look back on my college experience I'm grateful that I was active in a student organization. Student orgs are a great way to meet people. They also introduce you to new opportunities and experiences that you may not otherwise experience while at the University.

Do you have any advice for graduating students and alumni?

Support others in their careers, as you grow in yours. Whether you're just starting out or are a well-seasoned professional, supporting friends, former classmates, current colleagues, and others truly goes a long way. You never know when your path may cross a former supervisor from your field placement! Maintaining positive connections with others can take you far!

How can those interested in giving connect with you remotely?
