State of Michigan Targeted Opioid Response Grant

Stella Resko, Elizabeth Agius, Suzanne Brown and Jamey Lister (below from left) from the School of Social Work and Eugene Schoener from the School of Medicine will be evaluating Michigan's State Targeted Response to the Opioid Crisis Grant. The evaluation will measure the activities and outcomes of a $16.37 million dollar treatment and prevention award to the state of Michigan. The state received the funds from the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Administration within the United States Department of Health and Human Services and the evaluation is funded for $285,000. The evaluation will assess multiple program components including prevention programming for youth and tribal populations, education and distribution of Opioid Overdose Toolkits, expansion of medication assisted treatment and trainings for health professionals (e.g., physicians, nurses, social workers and emergency medical technicians).
