Screening, Brief Intervention and Referral to Treatment (SBIRT)

This course was designed by the Wayne State University SBIRT team - College of Nursing and School of Social Work who has trained health professionals, faculty, preceptors, and students to become SBIRT service providers and increase access to and availability of care, reduce behavioral health disparities, and promote the use of SBIRT in medically underserved communities in Michigan. Course objectives:

  • Define important components of SBIRT
  • Identify screening tools commonly used when conducting SBIRT
  • Understand the benefits and challenges of implementing SBIRT
  • Take home a variety of SBIRT resources 

There are three steps to obtain the CE's for this course:

  1. View the three course modules
  2. Complete the post-test and evaluation quiz 

Pending a passing test score and payment in full, a CE certificate for 2 continuing education clock hours will be e-mailed to you within 7 to 10 business days. There is no cost for these CECH's.


Refund Policy:

If you pay for this course before taking it, you have up to 60 days after payment to complete this course. After that, no refund or CEs will be issued.
