The University of Detroit Mercy, School of Dentistry, invites applications for a full-time position. We are seeking a social worker, mental health or social services professional to help prepare our dental students to work in a diverse and integrated workforce, to help manage patients with simple and complex psychosocial needs and advance awareness of the impact of social determinants on health. Topics to be addressed include motivational interviewing, biopsychosocial considerations including ADHD, anxiety, mood disorders, suicide assessment, and communication skills for health care providers, diversity and inclusion. The successful candidate will also be a liaison between the students, faculty, and patients. Requirements include a terminal degree in a health professional discipline. Preferably the candidate should be fully licensed in the state of Michigan and have strong public speaking skills. The position is available immediately.
