Two Position Openings for Associate or Full Professor
The School of Social Work at Wayne State University invites applications and nominations for two faculty positions at the rank of Associate or Full Professor. Our new vision, research infrastructure, innovative curriculum, inspired teaching and community engagement make our School an exciting place for those committed to applied research, scholarship and social work education. We are recruiting outstanding candidates with expertise in the areas of health, mental/behavioral health, children and families, community development, poverty and economic disparity. However, candidates in all areas are encouraged to apply. Preference is for candidates whose research and teaching demonstrate knowledge about issues and concerns of urban, poor or vulnerable populations.
Candidates must have a doctorate in social work, social welfare or a related discipline as well a record of outstanding and consistent publications, external funding, teaching andservice that would support being awarded tenure. For candidates interested in teaching courses in foundation practice, a master’s degree in social work plus two years postmaster’s direct practice experience is preferred.
