In June, Dr. Perry also gave public testimony on Older Adults and their experiences during the ongoing Flint Water Crisis to the Michigan Commission on Services to the Aging.
In September, Dr. Perry gave public comment to the Detroit City Council in support of the newly approved Notification Ordinances and the Inclusionary Housing Ordinance.
Also in September, Dr. Perry was the keynote speaker at the Presbyterian Villages of Michigan Leadership Advance event. Her talk was titled, "Senior Generations: Trends, Data, and Changing Demographics."

Airika Buford, communications and outreach coordinator of the Transition to Independence Program, has been invited to present about "Engaging Young Adults: Pathways to Success" the National Governor's Association: 2017 Human Services Policy Advisory Institute on September 25-27 in Baltimore. The Human Services Policy Advisors Institute is designed to highlight innovations and best practices in serving children and families. The policy institute will provide an opportunity for attendees to discuss and learn about the factors that are shaping human services work in the United States, along with showcasing innovative state approaches to addressing challenges.
