March 24, 2017: Social Justice Student Symposium
The Wayne State University School of Social Work is proud to host its first annual Social Justice Student Symposium which will focus on student projects related to the American Academy of Social Work and Social Welfare's 12 Grand Challenges for Social Workers. This event will serve as a gathering of students, professors, and the public in celebration of national social work month. The symposium is designed to give our students a chance to highlight research or project based work they have done which may include thesis work, directed study projects, faculty-student projects, or community engagement initiatives.
A keynote lecture on the 12 Grand Challenges will be made by Wayne State School of Social Work Assistant Professor Suzanne Brown at 9 am. For a detailed list of the symposium events view the tentative agenda here.

AUDIENCE: This FREE event is open to students, alumni, faculty, staff, and the public.
CE CREDITS: The Michigan Social Work Continuing Education Collaborative has approved this lecture for 1 Continuing Education contract hours at a cost of $10 under CE Approval #: MICEC-0058. No pre-registration is required. Simply register directly before in the lobby of the School of Social Work and receive your CE certificate following the event.
