The Wayne State University School of Social Work Transition to Independence Program (TIP) in partnership with LIVE Bea-U-Tifully are hosting the Young Women InPowerED Expo. This event is a way for our community to InPower (empower) young women (16-21) from at-risk populations (foster youth, homeless, victims of human trafficking, juvenile justice) with information, resources, speakers, pampering and entertainment. Topics of focus include beauty, health, identity, finances and most importantly education. Keynote speakers include Wayne State University's First Lady and Founding Director of the HIGH Program, Jacqueline Wilson, WXYZ-DT Action News anchor, Carolyn Clifford, and founder of Money Matters for Youth, Gail Perry-Mason.

We would like to give these young women hope and inspire them to pursue higher education by providing the resources necessary to make their dream into a reality. We request your help in spreading the word of this event to any young women at risk and area professionals you may know. Please feel free to forward this email and post the event flyer.

REGISTRATION: Complete registration by May 15th via the TIP website here

COST: Free for all young women ages 16 - 21 who are at-risk (foster care, homeless, juvenile justice, victims of human trafficking). Donations will be requested from professionals, support staff, and others in attendance who do not meet the 16-21, at-risk criteria. All proceeds will go will support TIP-Wayne State students and are tax-exempt.
