Sept. 7: Wayne Warriors Honor World Suicide Prevention Day

Every year, more than 800,000 people die by suicide and up to 25 times as many make a suicide attempt. Behind these statistics are the individual stories of those who have, for many different reasons, questioned the value of their own lives. The Wayne State University School of Social Work and Counseling & Psychological Services (CAPS) invites you to join us at the Wayne Warriors Honor World Suicide Prevention Day event marking the 15th anniversary of World Suicide Prevention Day, an initiative of the International Association for Suicide Prevention.

We encourage you to show your support for suicide prevention and swing by to sign a candle in remembrance of a lost loved one and for the survivors of suicide. There will also be a selfie booth for participants who would like to post a photo to social media sites with the hash tag #Isignedthecandle@WSU.

Print event flyer.
