Social Work Spotlight: Meet Student Assistant Austin Lelle
Student Assistant Austin Lelle is a common face you will see when you visit the School of Social Work front lobby desk. Austin assists those entering the building, responds to general information requests and completes special projects in support of the Admissions and Student Services Office. A native Michigander from Albion, Austin earned his undergraduate degrees in Biology and Chemistry from Albion College. Austin is a current Wayne State student working on a graduate degree in Chemical Engineering.
What is your favorite course you took at WSU and why?
It’s probably Biochemical Engineering. I had no idea products like insulin are made in yeast fermentations, and learning about it has been super cool!
What is your favorite thing about your job?
It’s definitely the people I work with and see on a daily basis. Everyone has been super friendly, and it’s great seeing people so passionate about their work.
What do you plan to do when you graduate?
I want to get an engineering job in my industry and start a family.
What is one thing others may not know about you?
I’m a huge fan of tabletop games, and I’m a proud pet dad to one dog and two cats.
