Development

Campus-wide, all schools, colleges and units continue to fundraise towards their respective Pivotal Moments Campaign priorities and goals. The School of Social Work’s three campaign fundraising priorities are: funding the Phase II renovation of the new building, support for faculty, and scholarships for students. To date, the School of Social Work has raised $2.6 million towards our $5.5 million Pivotal Moments goal. A recent gift of note is a $500,000 endowment gift to fund scholarships for our students. This gift will generate more than $20,000 every year in scholarship funds and is the largest gift from an individual ever given to the school. (We’ll be sharing more about this donor’s story soon!) It’s worth noting that while large gifts are always exciting, it takes gifts of all sizes to reach our goals. The development office’s aim is to consistently communicate with donors, whether they’re giving $5 or $500,000, about the positive impact their gifts have at the School of Social Work. If you have questions about fundraising activities at the school or would like to discuss a project that you think would be of interest to donors, please feel free to get in touch with Mari Vaydik at am3982@wayne.edu.
