The School of Social Work participated in the C2 Pipeline Program 2016 College Experience. C2 Pipeline is a college/career readiness program with a focus on health care careers. For the third summer, local high school students participated in a residential Inter-Professional Education (IPE) Camp on the Wayne State campus which included students visiting Social Work, Nursing, Medicine, Engineering, Pharmacy and health sciences. A group of students visited Social Work for 18 hours of curriculum organized by Julie Alter-Kay, Cassandra Bowers, Takisha Lashore, and MSW alumna Kristen Salem. MSW alumna and Social Work Alumni Board member, TaKisha Lemons served as a mentor for one of the summer IPE teams which took home the judges choice award at the annual Gala on July 21. A big thanks to all faculty and staff who participated in the program this summer! Below you will find pictures of students and facilitators from the C2 Pipeline Social Work Student Celebration on July 20. Students gave a brief presentation and received their completion certificates from Dean Cheryl Waites and Assistant Professor Clinical, Cassandra Bowers.
