Jerry Brandell presented a lecture on "Psychoanalytic Self Psychology," and consulted on a treatment case at the The Guidance Center's Infant Parent-Program in Southgate, Michigan on May 23.

Adjunct faculty member April Idalski Carcone gave a talk at the JDRF Regional Ninth Annual TypeOneNation Summit on May 14 in Belleville, Mich.

Carolyn Dayton conducted a workshop entitled “Trauma and Toxic Stress Effects on Parenting and Early Child Development” to Oakland County professionals serving young children and their families.

Michael Kral co-organized the psychology section of the International Congress for Qualitative Inquiry at University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, titled “Critical and Post-Structural Qualitative Psychology.”

Jamey Lister gave an invited plenary talk at the Alberta Gambling Research Institute’s 15th Annual Conference in Banff, Canada. Dr. Lister’s talk focused on the impact of co-occurring mental health disorders to treatment outcomes for people with gambling disorder.

Joanne Sobeck presented May 11 at an invited seminar at the University of Windsor on Building Capacity, Culture, and Community Partnerships.

Tamarie Willis, Sarah Doyle, Takisha LaShore and Shantalea Johns presented at the 2016 MIACADA (Michigan Academic Advising Association) annual conference on May 20 in Big Rapids, Michigan. The title of their presentation was “Graduate Students Are Students Too!”

 

Wayne State’s Transition to Independence Program was featured by the Children’s Bureau of the U.S. Department of Health & Human Services’ Administration For Children & Families on its Child Welfare Information Gateway.
