Biography

Cassady graduated from Wayne State Universities advance standing MSW program in 2008. She went on to practice hospice social work in California and Oregon before returning to Michigan in 2011, when she shifted to emergency then intensive care medical social work at Sinai-Grace Hospital in Detroit. Upon returning to Michigan, Cassady also revisited her alma mater to begin working on a graduate certificate in Social Welfare Research and Evaluation.

Before leaving the Detroit Medical Center in 2013, Cassady gained experience practicing oncology social work with both urban and rural populations. Cassady left hospice in 2015 to join Wayne State's joint PhD program in Social Work and Anthropology (SWAN) full time.
