Biography
Nicolette began teaching for Wayne State University in 2017. Prior to teaching in the classroom, Nicolette served as a field supervisor for MSW students of Wayne State, Michigan State, and Spring Arbor Universities. She possesses clinical expertise in medical and behavioral health social work. In addition to teaching, she currently works as a Clinical Psychotherapist at Henry Ford Health System Detroit and specializes in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy.
Nicolette began her social work career in 2009, working as part of a multi-disciplinary team at St. John Providence Hospital. During nearly a decade of employment in the hospital setting, she was responsible for managing patient care needs in the Cardiac Specialty, Neurosurgery, and Intensive Care units. She also worked in the emergency room conducting psychiatric assessments and arranging inpatient placements. Shortly after she began teaching for Wayne State, Nicolette transitioned to a position as a Behavioral Health Case Manager for University of Michigan Health System. As a Case Manager, she worked extensively with patients who had severe and persistent mental illness and chronic health conditions.
