Biography
Jessica joined the Center for Behavioral Health and Justice in 2018 following the completion of her Masters in Social Work degree, focusing on Innovations in Community and Policy. During the program, she gained experience in the field as a Domestic Violence Advocate in the Detroit Police Department’s 9th Precinct and as an intern for Detroit City Councilmember Raquel Castañeda-Lopéz. Prior to earning her MSW, Jessica worked in youth-led social justice programming at the Michigan Roundtable for Diversity and Inclusion and the University of Michigan’s Community Scholars Program.
Responsibilities
Jessica coordinates all communications of the CBHJ including the website, email, news and social media; brand messaging and development across initiatives; and oversight of formatting and design of materials. She supports CBHJ leadership and initiative managers through data visualization of complex research outcomes, development and dissemination of research products, and audio/visual support for research and events. She also manages the data dashboard project.
