Information Officer, Center for Behavioral Health and Justice
Best joined the Center for Behavioral Health and Justice in 2018 following the completion of her Masters in Social Work degree, focusing on Innovations in Community and Policy. During the program, she gained experience in the field as a Domestic Violence Advocate in the Detroit Police Department’s 9th Precinct and as an intern for Detroit City Councilmember Raquel Castañeda-Lopéz. Prior to earning her MSW, Best worked in youth-led social justice programming at the Michigan Roundtable for Diversity and Inclusion and the University of Michigan’s Community Scholars Program.
Best works as Information Officer for the Center for Behavioral Health and Justice. She coordinates with CBHJ staff and leadership to effectively communicate key findings, policy impacts, and areas of reform to stakeholders through development of reports, presentations, social media and website content.
