Haley Hicks
Biography
Haley joined the Center for Behavioral Health and Justice (CBHJ) in February 2025. Prior to this, she received her bachelor’s in psychology and sociology from Wayne State University while engaging in the Applied Developmental Science and Promoting Protective Policy Labs as a student assistant. Haley also worked as a survey supervisor at the Wayne State University Center for Urban Studies in which she oversaw statewide telephone survey initiatives evaluating educational and behavioral health programs. Currently, Haley is pursuing her master’s in social work and is broadly interested in researching and promoting community violence prevention and harm reduction efforts with a focus on youth.
Responsibilities
Haley is a project coordinator for the Opioid Treatment Ecosystem initiative. In this role, she is responsible for managing site recruitment, engagement, and retention to implement public health vending machines throughout Wayne County on a project called the Well Wayne Station initiative. Haley serves as a liaison within counties, navigating relationships between systems and county partners and implements evaluation design including data collection, surveys, interviews, and focus groups.
