Madison Magness joined the Center for Social Work Research (CSWR) Support Lab in April 2021 as a Student Research Assistant while completing her MSW degree at Wayne State University. She graduated with her BSW in 2019 from Wayne State, followed by her MSW degree in 2021. Magness was promoted to Outreach Coordinator in September 2022 and now supervises the Student Research Assistants/Techs at the CSWR Support Lab. Magness plans to continue developing her research and evaluation skills while working as the Lab’s Coordinator alongside the Manager of the Center for Social Work Research. Magness’ research interests include impact/recovery from emotional abuse in romantic and familial relationships, holistic healing in mental health treatment, and therapeutic psychedelics.
Supervise a team of student assistants who perform various research duties as well as onboarding and training student assistants on internal processes and software. Guide the team through daily work activities and monitor student performance. Develop data collection instruments and oversee distribution and collection of surveys and monitor data collection progress. Assist in producing written reports and other deliverables for external audiences by creating data visualization elements and writing descriptive data analysis narratives. Maintain databases used for evaluation by importing data and overseeing data entry. Maintain evaluation study protocols, work plans, and timelines by updating evaluation progress and reporting to the principal investigator. Produce quarterly reports from Trello and TimeCamp to be used for invoicing and workflow. Provide information to the Associate Director of Marketing and Communication for the Social Work website, digital scholarship board, email blasts, and social media.
