Biography

 Seth Allard is a USMC Veteran of OIF, and Citizen of the Sault Saint Marie Tribe of Chippewa Indians (Ojibwa), and a recipient of the Deans Diversity Fellowship. His focus is understanding the life cycle and development of chronic health disparities, the cultural and historical meanings of health disparities from an existentialist perspective. Additionally, Seth focuses on medical anthropology, applied anthropology, creative ethnographic writing, community based participatory research, public health program development and efficacy, and nonwestern, holistic approaches to health and wellness. As a member of communities that are historically exposed to common contributing factors for health disparities, and a person with lived experience, Seth approaches his studies with the goal of expanding and enmeshing the purpose and impact of social science and social work.
