Biography
Nikita Miner received her BA in Interdisciplinary Studies: Social Work, English, & Communications from Calvin University in Grand Rapids, Michigan. She is a first-generation college graduate with a passion for grassroots activism, community organizing, and mutual aid. In 2023, she won the Prism Award for Community Organizing from the Grand Rapids Pride Center, for her long-standing work as an organizer and activist in West Michigan. She has over 10 years' experience in the nonprofit sector, from her time as a Student Service-Learning Coordinator at university to most recently her time as a Program Coordinator & HIV Medical Case Manager at the Grand Rapids Red Project. She also holds a Community Health Worker certification (CHW) from the Michigan Community Health Worker Alliance (MICHWA).
Responsibilities
Nikita is first point of contact for students and placement agencies with questions relating to IPT (Intern Placement Tracking software) and other responsibilities related to the Office of Practicum Education.
