90th Anniversary Celebration
Since 1935, the Wayne State University School of Social Work has been a cornerstone of education, research, and advocacy in the heart of Detroit. We have empowered generations of social workers with the skills to promote social justice and serve urban communities both locally and globally. With over 900 students and hundreds of practicum sites, our impact is far-reaching and deeply rooted in evidence-based practice and policy advocacy.
Our two research centers—the Center for Social Work Research and the Center for Behavioral Health and Justice—drive transformative efforts that address society’s most pressing challenges and advance social work education and practice.
As we celebrate 90 years of impact, we reaffirm our commitment to fostering diversity, equity, and inclusion, preparing future social workers, and driving meaningful change in Detroit and beyond. Together, we’re shaping a brighter future—Warrior Strong.
Thank you for being part of our journey. We look forward to celebrating our rich history and envisioning the next 90 years of progress and innovation with you!
