Description: Under the supervision of the MI-C Program Director and Family Support Supervisor, the occasional part-time Mental Health Assistant will work as a member of a Mental Health team to provide a break to parents of a child with a serious emotional disturbance, and a positive relationship with the child or adolescent.
Duties: Provides 1-1 services to children & adolescents with emotional or behavioral problems, participating in activities the child enjoys, supervising and ensuring safety, so that parents experience temporary relief from their caregiving duties. Maintain collaborative communication with parents and other team members. Maintain compliance with required training and supervision.
Qualifications: A high school diploma and a valid Michigan driver's license. EXPERIENCE: Prior experience working with children/adolescents with emotional or behavioral problems preferred.
