Description

Position Summary: Ensures effective delivery of clinical patient care in non-nursing clinical departments and compliance with administrative and clinical policies and procedures. Assess the clinical needs based on customer feedback (e.g., physicians, patients) and develop programs to meet the needs. Assists with strategic planning, program development, personnel management and fiscal planning. Manage, supervise and coordinate delivery of mental health patient care for assigned program settings. Ensure compliance with clinical patient care standards, regulatory requirements and established policies and procedures.

Design treatment protocols employed within the facility ensuring appropriate assessments for all patients served. Implementation of best practice and emerging practice protocols. Reviews service quality (i.e. treatment plans, clinical assessment questionnaires).

Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include: Assisting the Director of Clinical Services to interview, hiring, and training employees; planning, assign, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

Duties are highly confidential and of a complex nature. Must demonstrate ability to deal w/crisis situations which require prompt decision and action, and have sensitivity in relating to persons of varying backgrounds and to those who have experienced psychiatric problems.

Knowledge, Skills, and Experiences Required:

Education: Must have a Master’s Degree who has a 2 to 4 years background working with adults and adolescents with mental health disorders.

License: Full license in social work, counseling, psychology, or related field.

Experience: Demonstrates communication skills in working with populations of a wide-range of literacy skills. Must exercise considerable self-control under difficult circumstances at times. Previous management experience including supervision. The ability to organize tasks related to the accomplishment of hospital, clinic, and/or organization goals and objectives. Ability to work in a professional manner with physicians, mental health professionals, referral sources, and support staff.
