Clinical Therapist - $43,000 with Excellent Full Benefit Package

The Agency is seeking a Full Time Clinical Therapist, whose primary responsibility is to play a critical role in the day-to-day care of the children and youth with the use of Trauma Informed Care. This treatment method allows us to look beyond a child's behavior to the deeper trauma that caused it. This approach helps heal the child so he can truly move successfully into adulthood. This position uses therapeutic techniques, such as Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy to assess the level of resident and family functioning; sets treatment goals and plans interventions with resident and family/referring agency; implements and delivers the agreed upon service; and evaluates the effectiveness of the interventions, plans, and the resident's and family's progress. The Clinical Therapist shall also promote the mission and goals of Christ Child House as well as promote awareness, appreciation of, and sensitivity to the cultural background and needs of persons served by the agency, and respond to those needs.

Educational and work experience requirements:

MSW, LMSW, LPC, LLPC from an accredited College or University or an advanced degree in a related field. A Limited License or Full License in your specialty field ie: LLMSW, LPC etc., valid documentation of State Board licensure.

Valid Michigan Driver's license with acceptable record by insurer's standards.

Clinical experience in treating children with behavioral, emotional, or mental disorders.

Children's residential treatment program experience preferred.

Proficient in computer applications.

Good moral character, emotionally stable, and of sufficient health, ability, experience, and education to perform the assigned duties, and free of communicable tuberculosis.

Awareness of and sensitivity to cultural differences among agency residents.

This position utilizes a trauma based approach to treatment in a therapeutic environment. Christ Child House is an all boys residential facility located in Detroit Michigan, we are licensed for 31 boys who are adjudicated court wards, removed due to abuse or neglect. We have two contracts- General Residential and Mental Health Behavior Stabilization. Our population has not succeeded in foster care and is in need of a more structured setting.

Each Clinical Case Manager has a case load of 10 maximum. The Clinician completes treatment plans (ISP, USP, Action Summaries), court reports/court responsibility, family contact, coordination of visitation, case conferences/Family Team Meetings. Responsible for file maintenance in accordance with agency, DHHS, Contract, Licensing an accreditation standards. Responsible for all therapeutic services including but not limited to individual, and group therapy twice per week,crisis counseling as needed and family therapy. Complete a minimum of 25 hours of on-going training annually and 40 hours of orientation in the first year. File 3200's as needed. Provide consultation and training to staff as needed. Meet with Psychiatrist and Clinical Team as often as needed for medication and Psychiatric reviews. Apprise Supervisor and Director's of any safety issues pertaining to client's. Maintain high standards of care and professionalism. Represent the agency in a positive manner.
