Description:

Under the supervision of the Executive Director and Program Coordinator, occasional part time clinician (up to 16 hours per week) will assess individuals in the county jail and will provide appropriate clinical interventions including crisis intervention, prescreening for inpatient psychiatric care, safety planning, individual suicide screening and clearances. This position will work closely with Jail Correction leadership and officers on a daily basis regarding inmate's mental health/substance use needs. The hours for this position to work in the Livingston County jail will be primarily nights, weekends, holidays and to provide coverage at other times as needed. This Clinician will need a good understanding of working with people with co-occurring serious mental illness and substance use disorders. Services will be provided in the jail and clinician must work as part of the Jail Diversion team.

Duties:

Occasional part-time up to 16 hours per week position. Jail Services Clinician position to cover periodic openings, hours scheduled may vary and are dependent on program operational needs and may not be consistent. Jail Services Clinician will work with adults with co-occurring serious mental illness and substance use disorders. Provide appropriate clinical interventions in the jail. Familiarity with MRT, DBT, Motivational interviewing, CBT, ROSC and DSM V beneficial

Qualifications:

Master's degree with Michigan licensure, LMSW, LLP or LPC. Valid MI driver’s license required. Must be able to obtain clearance to enter the county jail. Some evening, weekend and holiday hours are required. EXPERIENCE: Prior treatment experience working with people with co-occurring serious mental illness and substance use disorders required. Prior experience working in a community mental health system preferred. Current or prior experience providing services in a Jail or correctional facility preferred. Experience working in the Criminal Justice System or Mental Health Court preferred
