Posting: Short-term Part-time Research Assistant - the People's Water Board Coalition

July 20, 2021

In partnership with the People's Water Board Coalition (PWBC), I am conducting a small interview project (n=25) to learn more about suburban Detroiters in Oakland and Macomb Counties who have been affected by water unaffordability through shutoffs or liens against their homes. We're looking for somebody local who can help us primarily with interviewing, but also with outreach and transcription.

The duration of the project is 2 months, to start asap (at the end of July or early August). Interviews will be around one hour and will be held either in person or over Zoom, depending on the participants' preference. We will follow UC-Santa Barbara guidelines for COVID safety and human subjects' protocol.

Details:

  • Must be able to start late July or early August
  • Must have access to your own transportation to travel in Oakland & Macomb Counties
  • 5-10 hours per week
  • Pay rate: $25/hour

Preferred experience:

  • Involvement in local social justice issues
  • Experience conducting interviews

Please DM or e-mail Dr. Dana Kornberg (kornberg@ucsb.edu) if you are interested or with any questions.
