  • Recipient Rights Advisor

The Recipient Rights Advisor assures that the hospital operates a Recipient Rights System that is in compliance with the Michigan Mental Health Code. Receives reports of, and investigates apparent or suspected violations of rights.

Acts to assist recipients of mental health services in obtaining resolution of complaints, and act on behalf of recipients to obtain remedies for apparent violations.

Endeavors to safeguard the rights guaranteed by the Mental Health Code through activities of prevention, monitoring and education of hospital staff.

Assists with maintaining positive patient relations through monitoring of the patient complaint process.

Works with the Risk Manager to organize and analyze trends in complaints and development of mitigation strategies.

  • Mental Health Tech

Delivers patient care under the supervision of a Registered Nurse.

Meets and interviews clients; provides didactic groups focusing on the treatment of mental illness in the Department of Behavioral Medicine. Interacts with individuals, families, and groups.

Assists multidisciplinary team in facilitating discharge planning and aftercare.

Writes progress notes. Participates in the master treatment plan.

Helps clients establish goals and objectives.

Helps educate clients in various aspects of mental health in order to facilitate recovery.
