Scholarships and Financial Aid

The 2018-2019 School of Social Work Private Scholarship Application is now available. Each year, several private scholarships are offered to encourage talented students to continue their education. These scholarships are designed to provide financial assistance to students enrolled in academic programs offered by the School of Social Work.

Completed applications must be submitted to the School of Social Work, Office of Admissions and Student Services, by midnight on March 1, 2018.

To apply for the various scholarships, please complete our online application which can be accessed by clicking this link: 2018-2019 Scholarship Application.

As indicated on the application, applicants wanting consideration for the Anna Katz Brenner, Carol Barron, Patricia L. Dillick, Rose Kaplan, Maldo E. Talick and/or Dean's Scholarship must upload an essay.  Applicants can apply for multiple scholarships, but must upload separate essays addressing the requirements for each individual scholarship.

All applicants must complete a Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) or an Ontario Student Assistance Program (OSAP). This information will be verified through the Office of Financial Aid and Scholarships at Wayne State University.

Receipt of a scholarship award is contingent upon agreement that we may provide your name, along with general information regarding your qualifications for the award, to the scholarship donor. Additionally, you must agree to attend the Scholarship Reception and must also send a thank you letter to the scholarship donor. A copy of the thank you letter must be provided to the Office of Admissions and Student Services. Failure to do so will result in the rescinding of the scholarship award.
